Dermal Fillers Michigan

Dermal fillers are a popular treatment for facial sculpting and facial rejuvenation. Board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Mariam Awada often recommends dermal fillers for Detroit and Southfield patients who want to achieve a more youthful, balanced facial appearance.

Dermal Fillers Allow You To Experience:

  • Reduction of moderate and harsh lines and wrinkles
  • Diminished acne scars
  • Enhanced lips
  • Increased confidence

Years of smiling, laughing, talking, and tanning can result in inevitable wrinkles. Dermal fillers can erase years of age lines, provide youthful radiance, and increase your confidence. This non-invasive treatment can also provide lip enhancement and reduce acne scars. No matter your age, look your best self with dermal fillers.

    Dermal Fillers Can Treat:

    • The nasolabial folds (extend from the lower nose to the corners of the mouth)
    • Parentheses lines (border the mouth)
    • Marionette lines (extend from the lip corners down to the jawline)
    • Perioral lip lines
    • Under eye bags
    • Acne scars
    • Shrinking lips
    • Hollow temples
    • Jawline indentations
    • Gaunt cheeks

      Dermal Fillers For Hollow Regions

Over the years, tissue is lost from the underlying facial fat layer. This natural process reduces skin support, resulting in hollow depressions in areas like the cheeks, temples, and jawline.

Jawline hollows create an inconsistent contour line around the lower jaw. Gaunt cheeks and temples also result in an aged appearance.

Dermal fillers instantly restore volume to these regions. This brings back the face’s natural and youthful contours.

      Dermal Fillers For Acne Scars

Patients who have experienced chronic acne can understandably find the remaining scars as upsetting as the condition itself. Unfortunately, the passage of time does nothing to diminish the appearance of acne scars. Dermal fillers can provide significant and long-lasting aesthetic improvement.

When injected into treatment areas affected by acne scars, dermal fillers push the depressed scar tissue outward, reducing its appearance. Dermal fillers also increase collagen production, plumping the upper layers of underlying skin tissue.

Patients can consider dermal fillers for improvement of:

      • Pitted acne scars that are very narrow and mild to moderately deep
      • Concave areas created from a lineup or wave of multiple acne scars
      • Indented acne scars that are roundish and look similar to chicken pox scars

      Your Dermal Filler Session

A dermal filler session begins with a facial assessment and mapping. The patient’s facial features will be evaluated, including the areas to be injected.

Once the injections points are determined, the areas will be cleansed to remove bacteria. After cleaning the face, injections will be delivered. Certain fillers contain local anesthesia, making the process more comfortable for the patient.

Once all dermal fillers are injected, massaged, and evaluated for best results, the markings will be removed. The patient will be given an ice pack to help reduce swelling and discomfort after the treatment. The whole appointment may last up to 20 to 35 minutes.

      Products We Use Include:

Each injectable has distinct properties. The experts at Dr. Beauty will select the best dermal filler(s) for you after assessing your cosmetic concerns and learning about your goals for treatment. These could include one or more of the following products:

      Juvederm®

A HA-based filler with a smooth consistency, Juvederm® is excellent for increasing cheek volume, diminishing lines around the nose and mouth, and plumping the lips. Multiple variations on the Juvederm® formula exist depending on patient needs.

      Restylane®

Restylane® is an alternative brand of HA fillers that has a more granular and cohesive texture. There can also be slight differences from Juvederm® in terms of candidacy, length of results, and costs based on your exact goals.

      Belotero®

A third option when it comes to HA dermal fillers is Belotero®. With its thinner consistency, it can be excellent on superficial lines and blemishes.

      Radiesse®

Radiesse® is a biostimulatory filler containing calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres designed to add volume and encourage dermal tissue regeneration for both immediate and long-lasting results. This treatment is ideal for moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, as well as lost volume on the back of the hands.

      Sculptra®

Another type of biostimulatory dermal filler is Sculptra®, which has poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) as its primary ingredient instead of CaHA. PLLA can ensure subtle results lasting up to two years.

      Bellafill®

Bellafill contains bovine collagen and polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA). The effects are semi-permanent, with patients often going five years or more between treatments.

      Are There Side Effects?

While dermal fillers do not require a recovery period like more invasive treatments, some patients may experience short term side effects like:

      • Redness
      • Swelling
      • Itchiness
      • Pain
      • Bruising
      • Tenderness

Irritation is normal and usually disappears within a few days. We also advise our patients to avoid aspirin and other non-steroidal, anti-inflammatory drugs such as Advil.

Patients should take a break from strenuous activities for a day or two. Dermal fillers can migrate before full absorption, so use only a light touch when applying skincare products and cosmetics. Extreme heat exposure during showers, baths, and hot tubs should be avoided for a few days.

      Know The Cost

Are you wondering how much this will cost? View our menu of services for more details on face, breast, body, and regenerative treatments. You can choose from one or a combination of two or more procedures to achieve your desired results.

Dermal Filler Basics: Everything You Need To Know

Fillers allow you to enhance your look and take years off your face through an easy, non-invasive treatment. In most cases, patients can receive the treatment that they desire and have little to no downtime for recovery. This med spa treatment is extremely cost-effective and can benefit any skin tone or gender.

      What Are Dermal Fillers?

Dermal fillers are gel-like materials that are injected beneath the skin for lip enhancement, acne scar removal, and to smooth moderate and harsh lines and wrinkles. These face fillers, lip fillers, cheek fillers, and under eye fillers, replace lost tissue volume that occurs as we age and as a result of daily activities such as smiling and squinting.

How Long Do Dermal Fillers Last?

Results vary from patient to patient based on the treatment area, daily activities, and other factors, including the type of dermal filler used, however, you can expect to enjoy your results for six months to a year, and sometimes up to two years.

      • Under Eye Fillers – six to nine months
      • Nose Dermal Fillers –  six to twelve months
      • Chin Fillers – results can last up to a year, however, a six-month touch-up is recommended.

*Dependent on your treatment, daily activity, and other factors.

Do Dermal Fillers Have Side Effects?

Complications and major side effects are extremely rare, especially when you receive treatment by a board-certified cosmetic surgeon such as Dr. Mariam Awada at Dr. Beauty. Common side effects are temporary — resolving in a few days — and include redness, bruising, itchiness, pain, swelling, and tenderness.

Are Dermal Fillers Right For Me?

Fillers can have profound results for anyone. As a result, before you get your treatment, we recommend you schedule a consultation. No skin test is required prior to treatment.

      Are Dermal Fillers Vegan?

We take pride in using products with no animal ingredients. The fillers we use are composed mainly of hyaluronic acid which is found naturally in our body tissue.

What Is The Difference Between Dermal Fillers And Botox®?

Dermal fillers and Botox are similar in that they both can prevent signs of aging, however, the way in which they treat the affected area is different. Botox is a neuromodulator which means that it targets the muscles responsible for creating fine lines and wrinkles. Dermal fillers, on the other hand, plump treatment areas to smooth the skin, and enhance facial features.

Because these two cosmetic treatments work differently, they can effectively work together to achieve your desired results. To see if these might be a good fit for you, schedule a consultation today.

      Dermal Fillers Cost

The cost for dermal fillers will depend on several factors. The number of sessions will influence the final price, as will the severity of the cosmetic issues being addressed.
